Visit Guidelines

Booking Timeline

Please reach out at least 6-8 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date.

Book Purchases (Required)

Every author visit includes a book component. Schools and organizations must choose preferred title/s and are responsible for coordinating book purchases in advance through their preferred bookseller, local bookstore, or directly from the publisher (information on how to order directly from them will be provided). To allow for personalization all books must be ordered and delivered well before the visit date. Having the books on hand enhances student engagement and supports literacy beyond the event. Plus everyone gets their book signed by the author. Photos are also welcomed.

Session Length

  • Author Visit - Storytime - 30 mins. is the allotted time for 1 presentation.

  • Author Visit - Special Presentation* + QA - 60 mins. is the allotted time for 1 presentation.

*A special presentation session includes only one of these topics: My Journey as a Writer, Writing Your Own Story, Writer’s Workshop - 60 mins. is the allotted time for 1 presentation.

Group Size

For interactive sessions or workshops, a maximum of 25-30 students per presentation is ideal. Larger assemblies can be arranged upon request.

Technology

For in-person visits, please provide a projector, screen, laptop/iPad, microphone (for large groups), and access to Wi-Fi.

Virtual visits will take place on your preferred platform (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).

Teacher Supervision

A teacher, librarian, or staff member must be present during all student presentations.

Travel

At this time I am only doing in school visits January - April 2026 within the Dallas area.

Cancellations

Please notify me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule. I’ll always do my best to accommodate changes. Any cancellation within 24 hrs. of the event has a cancellation fee. Note that repeated cancellations makes a school or organization ineligible to schedule an author visit in the future.
